Position Summary
The Electrical Engineer supports development and facility related projects at DTW and YIP Airports as
part of the Facilities, Design and Construction Department. The Electrical Engineer will perform a variety
of tasks related to design and development of projects including: analyzing and managing distribution
system capacities and conditions; developing Airport Authority Electrical Construction Standards; and
assisting in the management of consultant and construction projects; as well as providing technical
assistance in developing electrical system safety and preventative maintenance programs.

 Position Summary
Overall responsibility for ensuring total Client satisfaction for all aspects of assigned testing / support
services operations. Directs a staff dedicated to meeting client and vendor testing, quality assurance needs,
and product/sample processing from the physical receiving/log-in stage, testing, through preparation of
detailed test data information packages and test report development. Oversee and ensure appropriate and
effective testing capabilities and capacities in the region. Manage the assets of the organization and the
accreditations of the lab.
 Objective
Provide leadership in assigned Lab with respect to day to day operations, technical support, and business

 Major Roles & Responsibilities
Laboratory Management
 Direct day-to-day activities related to the client request for testing, receipt of samples, and testing
of client/vendor samples received on a daily basis.

Coordinate with Aftermarket, Global Electronics, and external suppliers to determine design, performance, and process requirements for PAST & CURRENT model service products that meet cost, reliability and manufacturing objectives. Estimate project schedules and budgets. Cultivate an OE TRW network of resources to complete tasks. Develop “out of the box” solutions to support the Electronics Service Strategy.

  • Interface with customer to understand design priorities, propose DVP’s, review test data for management of engineering programs and products. Communicates progress of projects to management. Works across organizational barriers to facilitate effective project completions.
  • Maintains appropriate engineering procedures throughout the product validation process including problem solving and achieving engineering deliverables. Analyzes and solves complex engineering problems using conventional types of plans, investigations, surveys, equipment, techniques or processes. Responsible for the development of qualification and validation protocols.
  • Conducts or guides testing and data analysis which demonstrate that new processes meet acceptance criteria. Prepare Engineering documentation including Test Reports, DVP&R’s, ECN’s, BOM’s, Marked Drawings, etc.
  • Complies with Company’s quality system requirements as well as any applicable regulatory requirements.
